US History I
Expectations, Rules, and Procedures
Course Description: in this semester long course, students will engage in an analysis of United States history from colonization to the reconstruction era. Using this approach, students will be challenged to consider how the country developed its identity and continues to redefine itself over time, both domestically and internationally. It is the intention of this course to help students refine their thinking processes and develop the skills needed for active involvement in their nation and the world.
Students will interpret history through class discussions, debates, select readings, internet based activities and writing assignments. Students will work both individually and in groups using a variety of methods, including technology, to present their research and conclusions.
